A gallery of artwork muted like the classics sometimes were, with an asphalt (bitumen or tar) wash effect. This coating gave a sepia color to the painting and reduced the color contrast making it look older. Here the intent is to reproduce (from the scan) a similar effect ("Faux Asphaltum.") You may find paintings from my other galleries here, only with the "faux asphaltum" effect applied. This effect allows a greater range of decor palettes that the painting will look well in.
